Parenting Resources
Our mission is to provide resources for parents both new and experienced. We offer classes in Infant Sign Language and are currently working towards classes in parenting, childbirth, homemade cleaning, beauty and health products, and towards DONA certification for our Doula services. Thank you for your patience as we endeavor to be a greater resource for families.
About Grace Fox, Instructor
My name is Grace Fox. I have been interested in American Sign Language (ASL) since I was a small child. During college, I decided to pursue Sign Language Interpreting as a career. However, financial hardships prevented me from completing my degree, though I still had a great desire to be involved in the Deaf Community and to share my love of ASL with others. When I became a mother in September of 2008, I turned my focus to my daughter, and then decided that I would not only teach my daughter to sign, but I would also share that beautiful gift with others. In April of 2009, I became a certified Infant Sign Instructor through Sign2Me. Since then, I have been working hard to bring the joy of communication to parents and children throughout the San Diego area.
In the future, it is my desire to become a full resource for parents both new and experienced, through birth and post-partum doula services, Lactation Consultation, parenting classes, and how-to-make parties (home parties teaching how to make various homemade products, such as lotion, soap, blankets, etc). In the mean time, while I am still working on my certification for those endeavors, I look forward to learning new things and sharing those things with the parents I meet.
Our Philosophy
We believe that parenting and birth should be natural, communication should be utilized at an early age, and that experiences and simple wisdom are a parent's greatest resources. Our desire is to offer our services, classes and resources to parents and restore families to their joyful, natural state. We seek to answer all questions, though we may not have the answer right away. Our goal is not to grow rich behind a guise of helping others, but merely to provide for our families as we provide services and resources to parents. We know that money is tight these days, so we are willing to be flexible with payments, offering pay-as-you-go classes, discounts to low-income and military families, and special offers when we are able to get products at a low price.
